ADRIAN, MI- For the second night in a row, sophomore
Regen Cavanagh (Chesapeake, VA/Sioux Falls Stampede (USHL)) netted the overtime game-winner to lift the nationally ranked No. 11 Utica College men's hockey team to a win over No. 7 Adrian College, this time by the score of 4-3.

Utica erased a 3-0 deficit in the second period with four unanswered goals, capped off by Cavanagh's winner just 1:07 into the extra frame. The Pioneers (9-2-2) have now won four straight and they have also picked up four wins over teams ranked in the top-15 nationally.Â

Adrian jumped out to a 2-0 lead at the midway point of the first period with a pair of goals just 47 seconds apart. The Bulldogs extended their advantage to three scoress just 15 seconds into the second stanza when Sam Ruffin netted his second of the day off assists from Zachary Heintz and Brandon Marinelli.

Sophomore
Tyler Dill (South Lake Tahoe, CA/Charlotte Rush (USPHL-Premier)) sparked the Utica rally at 8:32 of the second with his first goal of the year. Cavanagh and freshman
Brandon Osmundson (Chesapeake, VA/Hampton Roads Whalers (USPHL)) assisted on the powerplay tally.

Cavanagh brought Utica within one at 13:38 of the period as he buried a feed from
Justin Allen (Rochester, NY/Rochester Monarchs (USPHL-NCDC)) for his second of the weekend.

Freshman
Buster Larsson (Bunkeflostrand, Sweden/Syracuse Stars (NCDC)) completed the comeback with 2:18 remaining in the second as he netted a powerplay goal of his own for his second of the season.Â
Joey Rutkowski (Rome, NY/Smiths Falls Bears (CCHL)) and
Dante Zapata (Huntington Beach, CA/Austin Bruins (NAHL)) were credited with assists on the equalizer.

Neither team was able to gain the advantage in the third period as the game was sent to overtime for the second time on the weekend.Â

Gianluca Baggetta (Maple, Ontario/North York (OJHL)) made 30 saves to pick up his fourth win of the season. His counterpart, Nic Tallarico, finished with 16 saves in the loss.
