Women's Lacrosse Remains Unbeaten with Win Over Morrisville

MORRISVILLE, NY- The Utica College women's lacrosse team continued its red-hot start to the season as it downed host Morrisville State 20-8 in non-conference action Wednesday afternoon.

Utica moves to 4-0 on the young season.  This marks the best start to a season for the Pioneers since 2013, when they also started 4-0.  UC will return to action on Saturday as it travels to Oswego State.  Game time is set for 1 p.m.

Sophomore Lexi Scaccia (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) led Utica once again as she finished with eight points on five goals and three assists.  Scaccia has now totaled at least five goals and seven or more points in each of her first four games this year.  Scaccia also finished with a career-high 11 draw controls, marking the second time in her career she has totaled at least 10 draw controls in a single game.

Junior Stephanie Husnay (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) and freshman Samantha DeCondo (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) each finished with four points on the day. Husnay had two goals and two assists while DeCondo netted one goal and added three helpers.

Kaitlynn Palmer (Verona, NY/VVS) was second on the squad with three goals on the day.  Palmer also caused two turnovers, matching Husnay and Scaccia for the team lead. Freshman Reva Mussi (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) and sophomore Addison Green (Marcy, NY/Whitesboro) aided the offense with two goals apiece, while Jessie Biegel (Ridge, NY/Longwood), Katlyn Scarpinella (South Setauket, NY/Ward Melville), Brittany Nowak (Eden, NY/Eden), and Katherine Migliori (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy) each added one goal.  Freshman Cameron Boehlert (Utica, NY/Whitesboro) netted one goal and added one assist for her first collegiate points.
