CLINTON, NY- The nationally ranked No. 19 Hamilton College women's soccer team proved to be too much for Utica College as the Continentals came away with a 7-0 win in non-conference play Wednesday.
Hamilton struck just 1:20 into the game, but the Pioneers held strong to carry just a 2-0 deficit into halftime. The floodgates opened in the second half as the Continentals potted five goals in the final 45 minutes.
Hyla Mosher led the way with three goals on the day, while Erin Rayhill, Rose McCullough, Rylie Mutton, and Olivia Zubarik each netted one score.
Freshman
Karen Troche (Amsterdam, NY/Amsterdam) finished with a career-high 22 saves. Caity Smith and Zoe Katz played one half each to combine for the shutout.
The Pioneers wrap up the regular season Saturday as they travel to Hartwick College. Utica can clinch a spot in the postseason with a win over the Hawks. Game time is 2 p.m.
