UTICA, NY – The Utica College women's soccer team will conclude its regular season on a two-game road trip the week. The Pioneers will first venture out to Hamilton to face the nationally ranked No. 11 Continentals on Wednesday at 3 p.m. They will follow that up with their Empire 8 finale against Hartwick College on Saturday at 2 p.m.

Last Time Out: The Pioneers come into this final slate of games attempting to redeem themselves from a 2-1 loss to Russell Sage College on Senior Day. After a scoreless first half, both teams were able to put points on the scoreboard late with the Gators striking back-to-back. Despite a late goal from
Sydney Cook (Waterville, NY/Waterville), the Pioneers could not make the comeback.
Utility Tool: Sydney Cook (Waterville, NY/Waterville) continues to go on a tear for the Pioneer offense this season. She has accounted for Utica's last two goals scored in the past three matches bringing her total to six on the season. With her most recent goal, Cook now jumps to fifth place in the Empire 8 with 17 points.
Count On Connolly: Sophomore
Courtney Connolly (Warwick, NY/Warwick Valley) has continued her strong play this season as she ranks third in the Empire 8 with a .830 save percentage. Totaling nine saves versus Sage, Connolly continues to hold her spot at second in the E8 with 7.75 saves per game.
Playoff Picture: The Pioneers are currently tied for fourth place in the Empire 8 standings with St. John Fisher with 10 points in league play. Keuka College (eight points) and Russell Sage (seven points) are right one their heels. Utica can lock up an Empire 8 Tournament berth with a win over Hartwick on Saturday. If Utica does not defeat Hartwick, then the Pioneers must rely on both Keuka and Russell Sage to lose or tie each of their respective games.
Scouting the Continentals: The Continentals enter this match as the 11
th ranked team in the nation with an 11-1-2 record. They come in after getting a 1-0 overtime win over Mount Saint Mary on a goal from Dawson Caroline. As they come into their season finale against UC, the Continentals will look to Rylie Mutton and Hyla Mosher who are tied with a team-high six goals apiece.
Scouting the Hawks: The Hawks will have a game against Oneonta on Wednesday before facing UC. Hartwick comes into this match at 6-3-4 (4-1-2 E8) with a clinched E8 playoff spot despite falling to Nazareth 1-0. The Hawks are led by sophomore Gianna Cacciola who has four goals and six assists on the season. This will be the 22
nd meeting between the programs with Utica winning their most recent matchup in the 2019 E8 championship game, by a score of 1-0.
