UTICA, NY- The Utica College field hockey team faces a tough test Wednesday as it travels to St. John Fisher College for an Empire 8 matchup.  Game time is set for 4 p.m.
 
LAST TIME OUT: The Pioneers made easy work out of Medaille College on Saturday as they downed the first-year program 10-0… 10 goals is a new single-game program record…  Madeline Krecidlo (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) led UC with two goals and one assist, while Sydney Scaccia (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) had one goal and two assists...  Junior Chloe Williams (Holland Patent, NY/Holland Patent) netted her first two career goals in the win, and Madison Ranalli (Cicero, NY/Cicero-North Syracuse) and Jeslyn Files (Weedsport, NY/Weedsport) each had one goal and one assist…  Freshman Mackenzie Mix (Camden, NY/Camden) netted her third of the year and Taylor Oliver (Holland Patent, NY/Holland Patent) and Alyssa Pisano (Hopewell Junction, NY/Arlington) also scored.
 
SAVING THE BEST FOR LAST: Senior Madeline Krecidlo (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) is in the midst of her best season at Utica… She has already reached new career highs in goals (nine), assists (three), and points (21), with nearly half the season remaining… She is second in the conference in both goals and points… Krecidlo opened the year on a four-game scoring streak and most recently has netted four goals and two assists in the last three games.
 
AT THE TOP: Utica has a number of players who are standing out amongst the Empire 8… Graduate student Sabrina Whitehouse (Greenwich, NY/Greenwich) leads the league in goals (11), points (24), and game-winning goals (three)… Krecidlo is second in the E8 in goals, while Sydney Scaccia (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) ranks fourth with seven goals to her credit... Scaccia, Jeslyn Files (Weedsport, NY/Weedsport), and Mackenzie Mix (Camden, NY/Camden) are all tied for first in the conference with six assists… Shannon Jedreicich (Deer Park, NY/Half Hollow Hills East) is also one of the top performers in the conference so far as she is sixth in goals (six) and ninth in assists (four).
 
IN THE MIX: Freshman Mackenzie Mix (Camden, NY/Camden) has adjusted well to the college game… Mix is riding the highs of an eight-game scoring streak and she is tied for the team lead with six assists on the year.
 
MOVIN' ON UP: Senior goalie Megan Chamberlain (Queensbury, NY/Queensbury) is cementing her legacy within the program… Chamberlain currently ranks fourth in Utica College's record books for saves (359) and wins (20)… She is also second in the program's single-game record book with 25 saves against Colby College on Sept. 29, 2019.
 
SCOUTING FISHER: The Cardinals are 4-5 on the year (2-0 Empire 8) and they are coming off a 7-0 win over Russell Sage on Friday… Reigning Empire 8 Player of the Year Bre Socker leads the team with seven goals and 20 points on the year… Utica is 8-6 all-time against Fisher, but the Cardinals have had the upper hand recently, winning four of the last five meetings between the two teams. 
 
LOOKING AHEAD: The Pioneers return home on Sunday to Host Nazareth College… Game time is scheduled for 1 p.m.
