NEWARK, NJ - The Utica College men's basketball team fell in the John K. Adams Tip-Off Classic championship game to the hosts Rutgers-Newark, 66-48.

The Scarlet Raiders shot 47.1 percent from the field, 45 percent from three and 69.2 percent from the free throw line.

Utica was outscored 35-23 in the first half and 31-25 in the second half. The team held a lead twice in the game which came after a Thomas Morreale (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) three at 18:13 in the first and also at 16:12 when a Morreale three made it a 7-6 game.

Damien Call (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy) ended the game with eight points and a team high eight rebounds while Morreale once again led the team with nine points. Kimedrick Murphy (Hudson, NY/Hudson) and Avery Coston (Kerhonkson, NY/Rondout Valley) wound up with seven points each.
