UTICA, NY - The Utica College No. 3 seed Utica College field hockey team will travel to second-seeded Hartwick College on Tuesday for the Empire 8 Conference semifinal.  Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
 
LAST TIME OUT: The Pioneers concluded the regular season with a win on Saturday at Elmira.  The game was called at halftime due to poor field conditions, but not before the Pioneers put for goals in the back of the net… Sydney Scaccia (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro), Shannon Jedreicich (Deer Park, NY/Half Hollow Hills East), Lexi Scaccia (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro), and Sbarina Whitehouse each scored, and Jeslyn Files (Weedsport, NY/Weedsport) had two assists in the win.
 
LEADING THE WAY: Graduate student Sabrina Whitehouse (Greenwich, NY/Greenwich) leads the Empire 8 with 41 points and 18 goals… She is also tied for the conference lead with three game-winning goals… Whitehouse currently ranks fourth all-time in career points at UC with 102… She is also sixth in career goals (39) and fifth in assists (24)… Whitehouse has recorded atleast one point in nine of her last 10 games played. 
 
FOUR SCORE(RS): Four of the top five scorers in the conference are Utica players… Madeline Krecidlo (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) is third in the E8 with 13 goals, followed by Sydney Scaccia's (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) 12 goals, and Shannon Jedreicich (Deer Park, NY/Half Hollow Hills East) rounds out the top five with 11 goals to her credit… Additionally, Scaccia is third in the conference in total points (36), while Krecidlo is fourth with 29 points on the year. 
 
SHUTTING THE DOOR: Senior Megan Chamberlain (Queensbury, NY/Queensbury) ranks first in the College's career record book with 404 career saves… She is also third all-time in wins at UC with 23 wins to her credit… Chamberlain has compiled a .702 save percentage and 2.90 goals against average this season.
 
SCOUTING HARTWICK: The Hawks picked up the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament after going 7-1 in league play this year (11-4 overall)… Hartwick's only conference loss came to top-seeded St. John Fisher College… Hartwick is led by Sydney Gagnon, who has a team-high nine goals and 20 points.
 
AGAINST THE HAWKS: Utica is 10-12 all-time against Hartwick… The Hawks came away with a 4-2 win during the regular season in their meeting on Oct. 20… Sydney Scaccia (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) and Sabrina Whitehouse (Greenwich, NY/Greenwich) each scored for the Pioneers.
 
LOOKING AHEAD: The Winner of Tuesday's game will face the winner of the other semifinal between St. John Fisher and Nazareth College for the E8 Championship on Saturday.  Game time and location are TBA.
