ROCHESTER, NY - Byamungu Mugushu (Syracuse, NY/Bishop Grimes) and Gian Rodriguez (Buenos Aires, Argentina/Northwood) of the Utica College men's soccer team were named to the Empire 8 All-Tournament Team, as announced by the conference on Tuesday. 
 
In the team's semifinal loss to Houghton College on November 3, Mugushu scored two second period goals six minutes apart to erase a 2-0 deficit and even the game. Gian Rodriguez (Buenos Aires, Argentina/Northwood) gave Utica its first lead of the game on a goal in the 81st minute before the Highlanders forced overtime and eventually won the game. Mugushu also had two phenomenal looks in overtime that could have won the game however, a pair of excellent saves by Houghton helped to, at the time, preserve the even score. 
 
UC finished the season 9-7-1 overall while its mark of 6-2 in the conference helped the team earn the three-seed in the E8 tournament as well as reach the conference semifinals for the first time since 2014.
