UTICA, NY- The Utica College women's lacrosse team will hit the road to face conference foe No. 11 St. John Fisher College on Wednesday, March 17. The non-conference contest will begin at 4 p.m.

Last Time Out: In their second game of the season, the Pioneers dropped a 13-9 decision in a non-conference match against Nazareth College in Rochester. The Golden Flyers darted out to an 8-3 halftime lead, and that start made all the difference as it provided a buffer against the Pioneers outscoring Nazareth 6-5 in the second half. Six different Utica players scored at least one goal. Senior Stephanie Husnay (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) had a hat trick, while junior Lexi Scaccia (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) had a team-high four points on two goals and two assists. Junior goalie Claire Frier (Lafayette, NY/Lafayette) made nine saves for Utica.Â
Here's Husnay: Senior Stephanie Husnay (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) led the team in goals this past weekend after finding the back of the net three times. She is second on the team board in points with six points on five goals and an assist. Husnay is ranked 7th in the conference for goals per game (2.50), and points per game (3.00).Â
Say It Again Scaccia: Junior attacker Lexi Scaccia (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) has picked up right where she left off with two multi-point games to start the season. She is leading the team in points with five goals and three assists for eight points. Scaccia also leads the team with 13 draw controls in two games. Scaccia is ranked 5th in the conference for both assists per game(1.50), and points per game(4.00). She is also ranked 6th in goals per game(2.50), and 8th in shots per game(5.00).Â
Green's Got It: Junior attacker Addison Green (Marcy, NY/Whitesboro) is two for two when it comes to getting on the board this season. She has scored two goals in two games to start off her third collegiate season. She has also picked up one ground ball and caused one turnover.Â
Samantha Scores: Sophomore Samantha DeCondo (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) found her third goal of the season after scoring in the second half against Nazareth. She has also picked up two ground balls and won eight draw controls in two games.
A Blast From Blaszka: Freshman Aana Blaszka (Hampstead, NH/Pinkerton Academy) is proving to be one tough customer defensively in the early stages of her career. She has started both matches and has caused three turnovers and snagged a pair of ground balls.Â
Alyssa...x2: Freshman Alyssa Drell (Mastic, NY/William Floyd) is off to a great start after scoring her first collegiate goal in her first collegiate appearance this past weekend. Freshman Alyssa Pisano (Hopewell Junction, NY/Arlington) also scored her first collegiate goal on Saturday. Pisano has also picked up two ground balls, caused one turnover, and won four draw controls in two games.Â
Scouting St. John Fisher: The nationally-ranked Cardinals come into the contest with a 2-0 overall record, and have moved up to eleventh in the latest IWLCA poll. They most recently topped Clarkson 14-1.Â
