UTICA, NY - The Utica College women's lacrosse team will hit the road for their Empire 8 Conference opener with Russell Sage College on Wednesday, March 24 for a 5 p.m. face-off. The Pioneers will then host conference foe No. 11 St. John Fisher on Saturday, March 27, at 1 p.m at Charles A. Gaetano Stadium.

Last Time Out: Utica got their first win of the young season on Monday evening in a non-conference matchup with Castleton University. After getting a 6-0 lead in the first 5:15 of play, Utica went on to score nine more goals to bring the score to 15-2 at halftime. The scoring didn't stop there. Utica went on to score seven additional goals in the second half to bring the final score to 22-3. Feed The Wolff: Senior attacker Lauren Wolff (Peabody, MA/Peabody) was a star in Monday's game after scoring a hat-trick and picking up an assist. She is currently third on the team with eight points on four goals and four assists. She also picked up nine ground balls and caused one turnover so far this season. Wolff is ranked 5th in the conference at an assist per game. Her last goal marked her 45th goal of her career, and her last assist marked her 50th assist of her career.Â
DeCondo Doubles-Down: Sophomore attacker Samantha DeCondo (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) has started her second season off right. She currently sits fourth on the team with seven points on six goals and an assist. She scored a hat-trick and picked up an assist in Monday's win. She has also picked up three ground balls, caused one turnover, and won nine draw controls.Â
Look out for Lexi: After scoring two goals in Monday's game, junior attacker
Lexi Scaccia (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) keeps her goal-scoring streak alive as she has notched goals in eight straight games. Scaccia is leading the team with eight goals and four assists for 12 points. She has also picked up six ground balls, caused two turnovers, and won 18 draw controls. Scaccia is only two assists away from her 50th career assist. She is 5th in the conference for points per game(3.00), and 7th for both goals per game(2.00) and assists per game(1.00).
