Sabrina Whitehouse (Greenwich, NY/Greenwich) netted the game-winner 6:18 into overtime to lead the Utica College field hockey team to a thrilling 2-1 win over host Nazareth College in Empire 8 Conference action Sunday.

Madeline Krecidlo (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) opened the scoring at 18:09 as she put in her first of the year off a penalty corner.Â
Katherine LeRoy (Cicero, NY/Cicero-North Syracuse) picked up the assist on the play. Naz was finally able to get on the board with less than nine minutes remaining in regulation when Emilee Rosenberg buried a centering feed from Marissa Berghorn.

Whitehouse took a pass from
Emily Frank (Johnstown, NY/Johnstown) near midfield and ran in in towards goal. Despite a Nazareth defender forcing her to the outside, she fired a backhanded that went off the far post and in to send the Pioneers home with the win.

Megan Chamberlain (Queensbury, NY/Queensbury) made two saves on the day, while Nazareth's Amanda Chuttey finished with 12 saves.

The Pioneers (1-1) return to action on Thursday, March 8 as they travel to Hartwick College. Game time is scheduled for 4 p.m.
