UTICA, NY- The Utica College men's soccer team fell to visiting Hamilton College 1-0 in non-conference action Wednesday afternoon.

After a scoreless first half, Hamilton was able to break the deadlock at 54:28 when Jackson Vogt put in his first of the year. The Continentals played a short corner that Pandelis Margaronis chipped into the box. Vogt brought it down the spun and fired a shot that hit off the cross bar and in to give the visitors the lead.

Utica threatened over the final 30 minutes but the Pioneers were not able to solve the Hamilton defense led by keeper Ben Ziegler as Utica dropped its second match of the season.

Foti Xidias (Carteret, NJ/Carteret) finished with four saves for the Pioneers, while Ziegler turned aside five shots for Hamilton.Â

The Pioneers return to action Saturday as they travel to Houghton College to open up Empire 8 Conference play. Game time is scheduled for 3 p.m.
