UTICA, NY - After a scoreless first half, the Utica College women's soccer team surrendered four second half goals en route to a 4-0 loss to RPI at home on Tuesday night.
RPI controlled much of the time of possession in the first half however, the shots were close as the Engineers only held a 7-2 advantage over the Pioneers heading into the break.
In the second half, RPI outshot UC 14-4 while finding the back of the net in the 46th, 64th, 66th and the 81st minutes. The Engineers also held a 7-3 corner kick advantage over UC.
Jacinta Kaminski (Holland Patent, NY/Holland Patent) led Utica with two shot attempts and one on goal.
Courtney Connolly (Warwick, NY/Warwick Valley) recorded 10 saves in goal for the Pioneers before being replaced by
Karen Troche (Amsterdam, NY/Amsterdam) in the 72nd minute with an injury. Troche recorded one save and allowed one goal in 17 minutes.
UC (5-2, 1-0 Empire 8) returns to the field on Saturday for a conference game against Alfred University at 3 p.m. from Charles A. Gaetano Stadium.
