ROCHESTER, NY - Jimmie Warren (Suffern, NY/Suffern) of the Utica University football team has been named Empire 8 Conference Co-Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday. 
 
Warren strung together his best single game performance of the season as the Pioneers cruised to victory over SUNY Brockport on Saturday, 35-21. Warren led the Pioneers in tackles with 11 as well as six solo tackles. He also set a new season high with three sacks, with his final one coming on 2nd and 16 during Brockport's final drive of the game. Warren also set a new season high in tackles for a loss with 3.5.
 
Warren and the Pioneers are back in action this Saturday at 1 p.m. to take on nationally ranked SUNY Cortland in an Empire 8 matchup from Charles A. Gaetano Stadium.
