DANBURY, CT - Eleanor Cepiel (West Sand Lake, NY/Academy of Holy Names) of the Utica University's women's volleyball team has been named the Eastern College Athletic Conference North Offensive and Defensive Player of the Month for September, as announced by the ECAC on Thursday. 
 
The awards continue to pile up for Cepiel and her accomplished career as she was named Empire 8 Player of the Week twice this season. Cepiel's ability to produce both offensively and defensively has helped guide the Pioneers toward its successful season.
 
The senior's best overall performance this month came against St. Lawrence on September 16th. Cepiel was able to put together an amazing stat line of 17 kills and 25 digs. On the month, she has recorded 214 kills and 213 digs through the team's 16 games and has led them to a 10-6 record over the month. 
 
The West Sand Lake native is first in the Empire 8 in kills per set as she amasses 3.32 kills a set. She is also eighth in the Empire 8 in digs with 232 as she is averaging 3.36 per set. Yet, her most impressive feat is that she is first in the Empire 8 in points this season with 250.5. She has a 13.5 lead over second place, and a whopping 40 point lead over third place.

The ECAC (Eastern College Athletic Conference) is an eighty-four-year-old organization with well over 200 member schools across all three NCAA Divisions - I, II and III. The ECAC exists to enhance the experience of student-athletes participating in intercollegiate athletics and provides great value for universities and colleges by sponsoring championships, leagues, bowl games, tournaments and other competitions throughout the Northeast. The ECAC's esports platform is growing and now totals more than sixty colleges and universities and is expanding the geographic footprint for the conference nationally. The ECAC is also sponsoring competitions and leagues involving other varsity and club sports that do not fall under the umbrella of the NCAA.
