ROCHESTER, NY – Junior midfielder Emily Frank (Johnstown, NY/Johnstown) and sophomore midfielder Mackenzie Mix (Camden, NY/Camden) of the Utica University field hockey team have been named to the Empire 8 All-Tournament Team as announced by the conference on Wednesday.  
 
Frank scored her first career goal off a corner where she fired a shot into the back of the net in the second quarter of the first-round matchup against Washington and Jefferson College to give the Pioneers a 2-0 advantage in the contest. She carried over this momentum into the Pioneers semifinals matchup against Hartwick where she scored the Pioneers lone goal in the fourth quarter in the loss. 
 
Mix was a steady aggressor for the Pioneers in the tournament as well as all season long. Mix's ability to weave through defenders and push the ball up field kept the Pioneers on the attack against Washington and Jefferson and gave them hope on offense in the tough matchup against Hartwick.  
 
The Pioneers defeated Washington and Jefferson by a score of 3-0 in the first round before falling to Hartwick 5-1 in the semifinals. Utica finished the 2022 season with an overall record of 8-10 with a conference record of 6-3.
