UTICA, NY - The Utica University women's soccer team played its second match in the 2022 Fredonia Blue Devil Classic on Saturday. The Pioneers and their opponent, the Oswego State Lakers, battled to a 0-0 draw on the shores of Lake Erie to round out the weekend.

The Pioneers record moves to 1-2-1 on the young season. 

The Lakers out-shot the Pioneers 10-4, with a combined total of four shots finding the goal frame. 

Goalkeeper Courtney Connolly (Warwick, NY/Warwick Valley) made three saves to earn the clean sheet. Newcomer Kayla Giovingo (Centereach, NY/Centereach) had Utica's lone shot on goal. 

Utica will play its next match against Potsdam on Tuesday, September 13th.
