ONEONTA, NY - The Utica University field hockey team fell on the road to the SUNY Oneonta Red Dragons 1-0 on Saturday afternoon.
The lone goal of the game came just minutes after halftime off the stick of Carly Waszczak of Oneonta off of a penalty corner. The Pioneers were outshot by the Red Dragons 12-2 on the afternoon.
Mackenzie Mix (Camden, NY/Camden) and
Kylee Wojciechowski (Holland Patent, NY/Holland Patent) each took one shot for the Pioneers while in the cage,
Lyla Cushman (Holland Patent, NY/Holland Patent) recorded five saves.
Madison Ranalli (Cicero, NY/Cicero-North Syracuse) also had a defensive save for Utica.
Utica (0-1, 0-0 Empire 8) will remain in Oneonta to take on SUNY New Paltz at 2 p.m. on Sunday in a neutral site meeting.
