ROCHESTER, NY - Bennett Melita (Johnstown, NY/Fonda Fultonville) continues to impress as he was named the Empire 8 Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week after becoming the individual men's E8 champion. 
 
Melita has been dominating the competition all season long and did not let up in the Empire 8 Championships. The freshman's time of 24:54 is not only a personal best, but sets a new program record for an 8k race. Melita stands alone as the only runner to ever complete the race in under 25 minutes. 
 
Melita and the Pioneers travel to Houghton, NY for the Niagara Regional Championships on Saturday, November 11 at 11 a.m.
