ELMIRA, NY - The Utica University women's soccer team defeats Elmira College in Empire 8 play 1-0 on Wednesday evening.

The first half featured plenty of shots as the team's combined for 10. Utica pushed the pace as
Jenna Keeman (Douglas, MA/Douglas) registered a shot 15 minutes into the match. Both teams went shot-for-shot the rest of the half.
Kayla Giovingo (Centereach, NY/Centereach) and
Mikayla Kelley (Ballston Spa/Ballston Spa) each recorded one shot. Kelley's shot was on goal and saved by Elmira's Nevaeh Winston.
Kaela Mochak (Westfield, MA/Westfield) was responsible for two shots in the half. Both teams were tied at zero heading into the second. Â

Both teams picked up pace in the second half combining for 13 shots. Utica was responsible for 10.
Olivia Bochniak (Barneveld, NY/Holland Patent),
Cora Kraft (Poughquag, NY/Arlington),
Rory Richard (Barneveld, NY/Holland Patent),
Julianna Beaulieu (Southwick, MA/Chicopee Comprehensive) and Mochak were resonispible for Utica's shots in the second half.
Rylee Lamphere (Little Falls, NY/Dolgeville) put Utica on the board striking in the 76th minute to guide Utica to a 1-0 victory. That was her third goal of the season and she now has 10 points total.Â

Courtney Connolly (Warwick, NY/Warwick Valley) had a fantastic match recording her second clean sheet in 2023. The defense stood strong and helped Connolly only face two shots on goal both coming in the second half at the 66th and 69th minute.Â
