ROCHESTER, NY - Shannon Jedreicich (Deer Park, NY/Half Hollow Hills East) and Hannah Young (Jordanville, NY/Little Falls) of the Utica University field hockey team have been named to the 2023 Empire 8 All-Tournament Team, as announced by the league on Tuesday. 
 
Over her two playoff games in goal, Hannah Young (Jordanville, NY/Little Falls) posted a 1-1 mark and allowed just 1.5 goals per game with a total of 13 saves. In the first round against Sage, Young made five stops including a pair of pivotal ones over the final two minutes of play. In the team's 1-0 loss to Fisher in the semifinals, Young made eight saves and kept Utica within striking distance with seven saves over the final three quarters. 
 
Shannon Jedreicich (Deer Park, NY/Half Hollow Hills East) showed out in her postseason outings as well. The graduate student posted a pair of goals in the Empire 8 First Round against Russell Sage in which the Pioneers won 3-2. Her second goal in the contest served as the game-winner as it gave Utica the lead early in the fourth quarter. In all, Jedreicich had two goals and four shots on goal over the Pioneers' two games.
