WEBSTER, NY - The Utica University swim and dive program wrapped up day one of the Empire 8 Championships on Wednesday evening. The women ended the day in third place with 91 points and then men sit in fourth with 62 points.
Sara Kuiken, Kira Seaman, Paige Levine, and Bailey Simmons placed seventh in the women's 200 yard medley relay clocking in at 2:01.51 in the prelims and then placing eighth in the finals with a time of 2:10.67.
Phillip Ross (Newark, NJ/Newark),
Nick Massa (New Hartford, NY/New Hartford),
Jackson Sorbello (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy), and
Ronald Batario (Glassboro, NJ/Gloucester County Institute of Technology) placed eighth in the prelims clocking in at 1:48.95.
Annabelle Workman came in fourth place in one meter diving with a final score of 267.00.
Sara Kuiken, Aimee Oswald, Paige Levine, and Bailey Simmons came in seventh in the women's 800 yard freestyle relay clocking in at 8:47.43.
Jackson Sorbello (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy),
Nick Massa (New Hartford, NY/New Hartford),
Phillip Ross (Newark, NJ/Newark), and
Ronald Batario (Glassboro, NJ/Gloucester County Institute of Technology) came in eighth in the men's 800 yard freestyle relay coming in at 8:10.68.
The teams are back in action for day two of the Championships beginning at 10 a.m. with prelims.
