ERIE, PA - The Utica University women's water polo team finished its weekend at Penn State Behrend this weekend. The team fell to Penn State Behrend 14-7 and was defeated by Connecticut College 13-9.

Utica 7, Penn State Behrend 14
Penn State Behrend came out firing with an early 5-0 lead, yet Utica would score a pair and allow just one more goal in the first to make it a 6-2 game after one quarter. Penn State Behrend increased their lead to 12-4, yet the Pioneers continued to battle and it was 13-6 halfway through the fourth quarter. Penn State Behrend held on for a 14-7 win after a high scoring fourth quarter that featured three goals from each team.

Utica's top goalscorer this season Kelly Waryncia (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) had two more goals against Penn State Behrend and Bailey Simmons (Vernon Center, NY/Vernon-Verona-Sherrill) also netted two. Kira Seaman (Fort Edward, NY/Hudson Falls), Paige Levine (Holtsville, NY/Sachem East), and Amelia Laible () each scored one goal. Paige Levine (Holtsville, NY/Sachem East), Kira Seaman (Fort Edward, NY/Hudson Falls), Sara Kuiken (Valley Falls, NY/Tamarac), and Aimee Oswald (Reading, PA/Exeter Township) each tallied one assist. The Pioneers played their best defense of the season with six steals by six different players.

In net, Kim Serio (Lakeville, NY/Livonia) had 15 saves and it was her third straight game recording 15 or more saves.

Utica 9, Connecticut College 13
The first quarter was a tough battle with Connecticut jumping out to a 3-1 lead. The second quarter saw the teams fire plenty of shots with a combined eight goals in the period to give Connecticut a 9-4 halftime lead. Utica had a fine fourth quarter outscoring Connecticut 4-2, yet Connecticut held on for a 13-9 win.

Amelia Laible () led the Pioneers with three goals while Paige Levine (Holtsville, NY/Sachem East) and Kelly Waryncia (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) scored two goals each. Sara Kuiken (Valley Falls, NY/Tamarac) and Bailey Simmons (Vernon Center, NY/Vernon-Verona-Sherrill) each scored once. Kira Seaman (Fort Edward, NY/Hudson Falls), Aimee Oswald (Reading, PA/Exeter Township), and Kim Serio (Lakeville, NY/Livonia) each tallied two assists. Simmons, Seaman, and Serio each had two steals while Laible recorded one.

In net, Kim Serio (Lakeville, NY/Livonia) and Ainsley Vyse (Glastobury, CT/Hartford Magnet Trinity College Academy) each recorded six saves.
Utica (0-6) will return home and host its first tournament since 2014 and Penn State Behrend, Grove City College, Washington & Jefferson, and Connecticut College will all be attending and squaring off against Utica. The games will be played over the span of April 1 and 2 with Utica playing Penn State Behrend on April 1 at 11 a.m. and Grove City at 4:45. The Pioneers will then face Washington & Jefferson on April 2 at 9:15 a.m. and Connecticut College at 3 p.m.
