UTICA, NY - The Utica University men's soccer team falls to Hamilton College 4-0 on Wednesday evening.
The first half was controlled by Hamilton as they took command of the match early on. The Continentals scored 15 minutes into the game as Luke Peplowski found the back of the net early to put Hamilton up 1-0. Luke Ehrenfreund scored twice in three minutes. His first goal was assisted by Lucas O'Dowd at the 25th minute putting the Continentals up 2-0. At the 28th minute Charles Hawthorn dished out a pass to Ehrenfreund as he scored a nifty goal to extend the lead 3-0.
Hamilton dictated the pace of the match in the second half by controlling the ball and forcing pressure on Utica's defense. Luke Ehrenfreund would strike again at the 54th minute scoring his third goal of the day, marking this his first hat-trick of the season as Hamilton would go on to lead 4-0. The Pioneers were able to get six shots off in the second half while
Cody Baker-Green (Warwick, NY/Warwick Valley) had the only team's shot on goal coming in the 68th minute.
The Pioneers offense ran through their playmakers as Baker-Green recorded three shots, one on goal.

Martin Mendoza (Walden, NY/The Mount Academy),
Austin McCarthy (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro),
James Williams (Mount Sinai, NY/Mount Sinai) and
Kosta Karousis (Merrick, NY/W.C. Wellington Mepham) each had one shot.
Foti Xidias (Carteret, NJ/Carteret) got the start in net for Utica, recording one save.
Eduardo Paez (Eastchester, NY/Eastchester) would finish the match collecting three saves.
Utica(2-4-2, 0-0-1, Empire 8) will host Nazareth University on Saturday at 7 p.m.
