UTICA, NY - The Utica University volleyball team beat SUNY Delhi 3-0 on Wednesday night to extend its winning streak to three.

Eleanor Cepiel (West Sand Lake, NY/Academy of Holy Names) paced the offense with 16 kills while Peyton Migliaccio (Suffern, NY/Suffern) and Meghan Brennan (Southbury, CT/Pomperaug) each recorded four. Lauren Jones (West Winfield, NY/Mount Markham) was phenomenal serving with five service aces, while Migliaccio and Megan Wright (Clay Center, KS/Clay Center Community) each tallied three. Madison Maggiore (Orangeburg, NY/Tappan Zee) led the team with 14 assists while Jones had seven and was also a prime facilitator. Defensively Caitlyn Esposito (Haddam, CT/Haddam-Killingworth) was fantastic, recording four blocks while Abriana Wadley (Utica, NY/Proctor) (3) and Cepiel (1) were also very active. Cepiel, Wright, and Cassi Wagemann (Diamond Point, NY/Lake George) each were tied for the team-lead with seven digs.

The teams were as even as can be with Utica having 29 kills to Delhi's 28. The Broncos had a .125 kill percentage to the Pioneers' .121.

Delhi jumped out to a 5-2 lead before Utica used a small run to gain an 8-7 advantage. The Pioneers continued to do well on offense and opened an 18-12 edge before the set was tied at 24-24. A Jones service ace sealed the set for the Pioneers as the team captured a 26-24 set one victory.

The teams exchanged points in set two before the Broncos grasped an 11-6 lead. Yet, Utica bounced back to tie the set at 12-12. The Pioneers used a four-point run to capture the set 25-19 on a block by Esposito and Wadley and gain a two set advantage.

Delhi marched to a 4-0 edge in the third set and eventually grew it to 19-14. However, Utica gained all of the momentum with a miraculous 10-point run and secured the sweep on a Migliaccio kill.
