KEUKA, NY - The Utica University men's soccer team defeated the Keuka College Wolves 3-1 on Wednesday evening.
Anderson Velazquez (Norwood, NY/Marble Hill) scored twice and tallied one assist, collecting his fifth goal of 2024 and
Maximilian Pawlowski (Utica, NY/Whitesboro) notched his first goal of the season, adding to his four assists.

Brandon Pender (Brooklyn, NY/Xaverian) and
Noah Nassberg (Naples, FL/Gulf Coast) registered one assist each, which was also Nassberg's third point in four matches.

Eduardo Paez (Eastchester, NY/Eastchester) played the first half, allowing one goal on two saves.
Foti Xidias (Carteret, NJ/Carteret) played the second, allowing no goals on four saves.

Utica scored first just under 17 minutes to play in the first half as Velazquez found Pawlowski to give the Pioneers a 1-0 lead. The Wolves responded moments later, making it a 1-1 match.

Keuka received a red card with 27:09 on the clock, giving Utica a huge boost of momentum. With just over 36 minutes to play, Velazquez would record Utica's second goal with an assist credited to Pender. Utica would head into halftime up 2-1.

It only took Velazquez four minutes to score in the second half on an assist from Nassberg, taking a 3-1 advantage. The Pioneers would make some defensive stops down the stretch to seal the 3-1 victory.
