ROCHESTER, NY - Pioneer Field Hockey fell at the hands of a tough Nazareth squad in Empire 8 action on Wednesday by a score of 4-1.
Despite the three-goal defeat, the Pioneers actually managed to outshoot Nazareth on the night, launching 13 shots as opposed to the Golden Flyers' nine. Utica also managed to place 11 of those shots on goal. It was just simply not the Pioneers' night, as Nazareth goalkeeper Morgan Russo had a great night in goal for the hosts.
Mackenzie Mix (Camden, NY/Camden) was the lone goal-scorer for Utica, getting a goal with second remaining in the 4th quarter off of a Pioneer penalty corner. On the topic of penalties, the Pioneers also forced 10-more penalties than their opposition, gaining 14 penalty corner opportunities on the night.

Mia Benincasa (Gansevoort, NY/South Glens Falls) were the leading attackers for the Pioneers, with both notching four shots on goal.
