UTICA, NY - The Utica University volleyball team completes its regular season with a road trip this week. The team will travel to Delhi, NY to take on the SUNY Delhi Broncos on Monday, November 4 at 7pm. The team will then travel to Poughkeepsie, NY to take on the Vassar Tri-Match hosted by Vassar College featuring the Brewers and the United States Merchant Marine Academy Mariners on Saturday, November 9.

Last Time Out: Leading the way for the Pioneers in the team's 3-1 win against Elmira was Trinity Bailey (West Winfield, NY/Mount Markham) who slammed home 14 kills in the contest, followed by Elizabeth Hanba (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy) who tallied nine and Jada Anthony (West Nyack, NY/Clarkstown South) who recorded five. Lending a helping hand was Lauren Jones (West Winfield, NY/Mount Markham) who recorded 16 assists and Alicia Ancewicz (Greenlawn, NY/John Glenn) who recorded 15. At the service line, Anthony recorded four aces, Bailey recorded three and Jones recorded two. On defense, Megan Wright (Clay Center, KS/Clay Center Community) recorded 24 digs, followed by Jones and Bailey with eight. At the net, Peyton Migliaccio (Suffern, NY/Suffern) recorded eight total blocks, and both Jones and Anthony each recorded five total blocks.
Somebody Told Me: Megan Wright (Clay Center, KS/Clay Center Community) has been the team's leading offensive powerhouse this season. She has recorded 186 kills and averages 2.51 kills per set. Wright has also recorded 31 service aces this season. Trinity Bailey (West Winfield, NY/Mount Markham) has also been a point getter for the Pioneers, recording 110 kills this season, averaging just over one and a half kills per set. Jada Anthony (West Nyack, NY/Clarkstown South) had exploded last week for Utica, recording a .538 hitting percentage against Keuka.
Blocks for Breakfast, Digs for Snacks: At the net, Jada Anthony (West Nyack, NY/Clarkstown South) has exploded as the teams leading blocker this season, recording 36 total blocks comprising eight solo and 28 assisted blocks. Peyton Migliaccio (Suffern, NY/Suffern) had the best blocking game of her career against Elmira, adding eight blocks to her season tally of 30. Megan Wright (Clay Center, KS/Clay Center Community) has been the team's leading defender, recording 354 digs this season, which averages out to 4.78 digs per set, a mark good enough for fifth in the single season record books in the digs per set category. With the regular season's conference play coming to the end, Wright has found herself as the runner up for the conference crown in the digs category.
Breaking Down the Broncos: The SUNY Delhi Broncos have posted an 11-17 record this season and are undefeated at 6-0 in North Atlantic Conference play. Sage Renneisen has been the team's leading point getter, registering 229 kills this season, averaging 2.39 kills per set. Lending a helping hand on Renneisen's kills has been Jaiden Venute who has dished out 333 assists this season. At the service line, Brooke Schoppmeyer has recorded 47 service aces, which is good enough for the team lead. On defense, Audrey Logsdon has recorded 389 digs this season, averaging 3.89 digs per set. At the net, Katelyn Babcock has recorded 42 total blocks, 20 solo and 22 assisted. All time, the Pioneers are 6-6 against the Broncos, with the Pioneers currently on a 3 game win streak against Delhi. The Pioneers took last season's matchup by a score of 3-0.
Scouting the Brewers: The Vassar College Brewers have posted a 6-14 record this season, and have put up a 3-5 record in conference play. Maura McAusland holds the team lead in kills with 195. Molly Arden has recorded 279 assists, averaging 4.10 assists per set this season. At the service line, Holland Kaplan has recorded 53 service aces on the season. On defense, Ellie Kogan has recorded 194 digs and is averaging 2.94 digs per set. At the net, Julia Hale has recorded 59 total blocks this season, eight solo and 51 assists. This will be the first time since 2002 that the Pioneers will match up against the Brewers. The last time the two met, Vassar took the matchup by a score of 3-0.
A Look at the Mariners: The United States Merchant Marine Academy Mariners have posted a 16-6 record this season and a 7-2 record in conference play. Sydney Douglas currently holds the team lead in kills with 152, and is averaging just over two kills per set. Kylie Creech has lended a helping hand 369 times this season. At the service line, Douglas has recorded 57 service aces. On defense, Stephanie Schatzman has recorded 442 digs for the Mariners this season. At the net, Maddie Mayer has recorded 71 total blocks with 15 solo and 56 assists. This is the first time that the Pioneers are going to square off against the Mariners.
