COLORADO SPRINGS, CO - Pioneer Midfielder
Mackenzie Mix (Camden, NY/Camden) was named to the NFHCA All-Region III Second Team on Wednesday, as announced by the NFHCA and Empire 8. The NFHCA is a nonprofit organization that serves as one of the leading sources for college field hockey news and awards. On Wednesday, December 4th the organization released it's list of 2024 All-Region honorees, which included the Pioneers' Senior Captain who was selected as a Second Team All-Region III Midfielder. Mix was featured alongside many star players from all over New York State - the area which comprises the majority of Region III.
Mix had an excellent campaign in 2024, scoring nine goals and picking up seven assists for an outstanding 25-point season. Mix was also pivotal in the Pioneers' defensive plans, stretching her game from endine to endline and gathering three defensive saves along the way. The Senior Captain started all 16 games for the Pioneers, making her mark as one of the most consistently dangerous players in the entire region.
Mix will graduate with 27 goals and 23 assists over her four years as a member of the field hockey program. The Camden native appeared in 71 total games, starting in 69 of those appearances. She also recorded four game winners in her Pioneer career.
