UTICA, NY - The Utica University men's indoor track & field team wrapped up their afternoon, hosting the Utica Holiday Classic on Saturday afternoon.

Tanner Warren (Mohawk, NY/Central Valley Academy) continued where he left off last season, taking first place in the 300m, running a  35.36. His time was not only a personal record but also a school record and facility record, beating Kevin Gangemi's record of 35.54, which was set in 2018. 

Cameron Hoffis (Queensbury, NY/Lake George) ran the 400m in 54.02, placing 18th overall in his first collegiate meet. 

Newcomer, Ellis Urgent (Cornwall, NY/Cornwall Central) placed third in long jump with a 6.84m jump. With that result, he is now fourth all-time in the Pioneer record book.

Blake Gannon (Schenectady, NY/Mohonasen) made history in his first collegiate meet with a 15.73m weight throw. His mark is fourth all-time in school history. Newcomer, Joshua Talbot (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy) placed fifth with a 15.29m toss which was followed by Spencer Borghardt's (Melville, NY/St.Anthony's) 14.98m weight throw. 

Andy Hadasz (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) had an exceptional run, placing second in the 200m. He ran a 22.27, while also placing the at the AARTFC regionals. He continues where left off, placing at least in the top five in every indoor event since last season. 

The Pioneers host the Utica Winter Opener on Friday, January 17, at 4 p.m. The meet will take place at the Todd and Jen Hutton Sports and Recreation Center.
