BOSTON,MA- The Utica University men's indoor track and field team competed on day two of the Boston University Valentine Invitational on Saturday, February 10.
Antwan Kelly (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) had the top performance today for the team, as he took fifth place overall in weight throw, with a 17.19m toss. Justin Swavley (15.33m), and
Spencer Borghardt (Melville, NY/St.Anthony's) (15.03m) also competed in weight throw.
The mens 4x400m relay team of
Tanner Warren (Mohawk, NY/Central Valley Academy),
Jonathan Simmons (Broadalbin, NY/Broadalbin-Perth),
Evan Smith (Baldwinsville, NY/Baker) and
Connor Dean (Taberg, Ny/Camden) ran a season best time of 3:25.08. The team had individual success as well. In the 400m, Warren ran 49.82, Dean ran 50.22, Smith clocked in at 51.97, and Simmons crossed the line at 52.11, which are all personal best times. Dean also competed in long jump (6.04m).
In the 200m,
Ethan Kain (New Hartford, NY/New Hartford) and
Shane Tinney (Oriskany, NY/Oriskany) each ran season-best times. Kain crossed the line at 23.01 while Tinney ran 24.00. Tinney also ran the 60m in 7.57.
The team will turn their focus to Colgate University on Saturday, February 17, beginning at 11a.m.
