UTICA, NY - The Utica University men's lacrosse team took down the Keuka College Wolves 16-10 on Wednesday evening. Both sides of the ball played stout and freshman
Ryan Considine (Syracuse, NY/West Genesee) led all scorers with 10 points on five goals and five assists.
Sam Serrano (Stone Ridge, NY/Rondout Valley) collected five goals on five shots on goal.

John Spoto (Pittsford, NY/Pittsford Mendon) tallied three goals on three shots on goal and
Caiden Frey (Accord, NY/Rondout Valley),
Connor Costanza (Deer Park, NY/Deer Park) and
Lucas Donahue (Burnt Hills, NY/Burnt Hills Ballston Lake) recorded at least one goal for Utica.
Luke Rinaudo-Concessi (Babylon, NY/West Babylon),
Kevin O'Brien-Bruno (Goshen, NY/Don Bosco) and
Landen Frey (Accord, NY/Rondout Valley) collected one assist.

Serrano has 10 points in the last four games while Considine has a point in 11 out of 14 games in his freshman campaign.
Ethan Brown (Binghamton, NY/Chenango Forks) has played great fundamental defense as he's caused a turnover in 12 out of 14 games.

Patrick Oswald (Deer Park, NY/Deer Park) picked up his fifth win along with making 11 saves, eight in the first half and three in the second.
Jake Bowen (Williston, VT/Champlain Valley Union) played the last 10 minutes of action, where he gathered two saves.

Jack Hogan (Lindenhurst, NY/Lindenhurst) had a fantastic day at the face-off X, going 15-for-22 with eight ground balls.

Utica was almost perfect clearing the ball, as the team went 21-for-22. The Pioneer man-down defense held its own as Keuka had 12 man-up opportunities and only capitalized on three.

Costanza and Serrano opened the scoring in the first quarter, going up 2-0 with 11:32 remaining. Keuka responded about two minutes later, cutting the lead to 2-1. Soon after, Considine scored back-to-back goals between the 8:36 and 6:54 mark as Utica went up 4-1. Each team would respond with one more goal before the second quarter, as the Pioneers went into the second up 5-2.

Serrano opened the scoring in the second quarter with a feed from Consdine and just under a minute later, the Wolves struck back making it a 6-3 Utica lead with 10:35 left. Keuka made it a two-goal game with 8:40 to play and a minute later, C. Frey ran down the ally and let off an absolute rip, which found the back of the net and Pioneers went to halftime with a 7-4 Utica advantage.

Utica scored four unanswered goals in the beginning of the third quarter. Spoto, Considine and Serrano each tallied an apple between the 12:35 and 11:04 mark as Utica would lead 11-4. The Wolves scored with 10:29 remaining and Considine answered back with two straight goals, taking a commanding 13-5 lead. Four more goals were scored to end the third, as the Pioneers went into the fourth with a 15-7 lead.

Keuka scored three goals compared to Utica's one in the fourth. The Pioneer's eight goals in the third quarter ultimately led them past the Wolves, 16-10.
