ONEONTA, NY - The Utica University men's lacrosse team fell to the Hartwick College Hawks 14-4 Wednesday evening at Wright Stadium.

Ryan Considine (Syracuse, NY/West Genesee) led Utica with one goal, one assist and six shots on goal. Considine is now on a five-game point streak dating back to March 9. In those five games, he's recorded 12 goals, four assists and 12 ground balls.

Andrew Sacco (New Haven, CT/North Haven),
Landen Frey (Accord, NY/Rondout Valley),
Connor Costanza (Deer Park, NY/Deer Park) and
Patrick Oswald (Deer Park, NY/Deer Park) registered at least one point for Utica.

Oswald played the first 40 minutes, making nine saves through three quarters.

Jack Hogan (Lindenhurst, NY/Lindenhurst) went 10-for-22 at the faceoff X, winning six in the first half and four in the second.

Utica's man-down defense held Hartwick to no goals on four opportunities.

Hartwick opened the scoring, taking a 1-0 lead with 4:28 to play. With three minutes remaining,
Kevin O'Brien-Bruno (Goshen, NY/Don Bosco) had a great defensive play on a man-down, causing a turnover which led to a fast break goal for the Pioneers by Sacco, tying the game at 1-1. Hartwick and Utica would head into the second nodded up at one.

The Hawks scored two minutes into the second quarter and with 11:14 to play, they scored again, jumping out to a 3-1 advantage.
Landen Frey (Accord, NY/Rondout Valley) tallied a goal with an assist from Oswald, cutting the lead to 3-2. Hartwick scored three more goals between the 9:23 and 4:03 mark, and at 2:49, Considine tallied the Pioneers third goal, making it a 6-3 matchup heading into halftime.

Both teams combined for 39 shots in the first half, 19 from Utica and 20 from Hartwick.

Hartwick scored three goals in the third quarter, and they entered the fourth quarter with a 9-3 lead. The Hawks scored five goals in the fourth quarter compared to Utica's one, as they would go on to win 14-4.
