MINNEAPOLIS, MN - Josh Duval (Utica, NY/Proctor) of the Utica University baseball team has been named to the D3baseball.com All-Region 3 Third Team, as announced by the online publication on Tuesday. 
 
Duval becomes the fourth player in program history to be named to the D3baseball.com All-Region 3 Team. He was also previously named to the All-Empire 8 First Team and Empire 8 All-Tournament Team. 
 
In his first year with the team, Duval led Utica with a .392 batting average which ranked fifth in the Empire 8. Over 39 games played the junior totaled 12 extra-base hits (seven doubles, three home runs and two triples), 30 RBIs and 31 runs scored. The junior was also one of two players on the team with an OPS of over 1.000 (1.036) while his .484 OBP led the Pioneers. As a primary left fielder, Duval posted a .966 fielding percentage with 54 putouts and two assists.

The 2024 season marks the 12th season that D3baseball.com has named All-Region teams, with more than 1,000 players nominated. The ballot was then made available to D3baseball.com staff and contributors from which three teams in each region were determined. For each of the 10 regions, there is a regional player of the year (a batter), a pitcher of the year, a rookie of the year (must be a freshman) and a coach of the year.
