HORSEHEADS, NY - Laura Keating, an integral member of the 2007-08 Empire 8 champion Utica women's basketball team, has been inducted into the Horseheads Athletic Hall of Fame.

Keating graduated from Horseheads in 2004 and was a member of the 2001-02 girls basketball team that advanced to the Class A state championship. Known for her exceptional speed, ball handling ability, and outside shooting, Keating netted 903 points and dished out 324 assists throughout her high school career.Â

At Utica, Keating helped lead the Pioneers to their first-ever Empire 8 title in 2008, as well as the program's first trip to the NCAA Division III Tournament. She was one of Utica's most efficient shooters during that championship winning season, posting a .430 field goal percentage while leading the team with a .349 percentage from beyond the arc.Â

She remains top-10 all-time in program history with 91 made threes and with a .357 three-point percentage. Keating, who played for the Pioneers from 2006-09, also tallied 162 assists (17th all-time) and 2.1 assists per game (18th all-time) throughout her career.
