ONEONTA, NY - The Utica University men's soccer team fell 3-0 to the SUNY Oneonta Red Dragons on Wednesday evening.

Anderson Velazquez (Norwood, NY/Marble Hill) led the Pioneers with three shots, two on goal.
Maximilian Pawlowski (Utica, NY/Whitesboro),
Felix-Assa Loselose (Syracuse, NY/Nottingham),
Evan Smith (Baldwinsville, NY/Barker),
Noah Nassberg (Naples, FL/Gulf Coast) and
Gavin Baxter (Ellenville, NY/Ellenville) each collected at least one shot.

Both teams combined for 13 shots in the first half, 10 from Oneonta and three from Utica. The Red Dragons totaled seven corner kicks compared to the Pioneer's one. Velazquez collected the game's first shot on goal only 3:50 into the match but was saved by Oneonta netminder AJ Lucas. Derek Marques struck first for Oneonta on an assist from Joe Holder, giving the team a 1-0 advantage. Smith and Loselose each tallied one shot for Utica to close out the first half, as Oneonta would lead 1-0 going into the second half.

The Utica offense put pressure on in the first five minutes of the second, registering three shots. Oneonta's Tommy Kliampas scored 20 minutes into the half, and just under a minute later, Klimpas scored again as the Red Dragons jumped to a 3-0 lead to complete the match.

Utica and Oneonta combined for five shots each in the second, while Utica edged the Red Dragons 3-2 on corner kicks.
