UTICA, NY - The Utica University women's golf team gears up for the Empire 8 Fall Championship on Friday, September 13, for a 1:30 p.m. tee time. The championship will be played in Pittsford, NY, at the Locust Hill Country Club.

Last Season: This is the first time the team will compete in the Empire 8 Championship.
 
The Course: For a more in-depth look at the course, click here. Locust Hill has been used for LPGA events, more specifically, the Wegman's Rochester International, which started in 1977. It was one of the longest-running events on the LPGA tour and was upgraded to the PGA Championship of the LPGA Tour in 2010.
 
Season Outlook: The team will compete in six events, starting with the Empire 8 Championship. Utica then travels to Canton, NY, for the Kangaroo Invitational on September 19, which is followed by a match with SUNY Poly on September 20. The Pioneers battle SUNY Geneseo on October 1, and then the team competes in the NWGC championships on October 11 and 12. October 14 against Nazareth is the team's last match. All locations are TBD and will be updated on the schedule.
 
Meet the Team: Utica welcomes three new members and three returners. New faces include Alaina Weaver (), Emma Simpson (), and Emily Elwood (). Paige Graves (Syracuse, NY/Fayetteville-Manlius), Riley Morris (Buffalo, NY/Lancaster) and Carly Stefanini (Framingham, MA/Brooks School) return as the veterans. The team placed first two times last season, at the SUNY Poly Invitational and against Nazareth, head-to-head.
