PITTSFORD, NY - The Utica University women's golf team placed fourth out of five teams at the Empire 8 Championship on Saturday afternoon. The championship was played at the Locust Hill Country Club in Pittsford, NY.

The top finisher was Kayla Ringer from Nazareth, who finished with an 86, 14-over-par.

Utica newcomer
Alaina Weaver () was the Pioneer's top finisher, shooting a 91, 19-over-par. She hit for par three times on the front nine and two on the back, along with a birdie on a par 3.

The par 3 was her best hole all afternoon and she concluded the back nine with a 44.

Carly Stefanini (Framingham, MA/Brooks School) took ninth, shooting 24-over-par.
Paige Graves (Syracuse, NY/Fayetteville-Manlius) and
Emily Elwood () rounded out the scorecard for Utica.

The team travels to Canton, NY for the Kangaroo Invitational on Thursday, September 19 at 11 a.m. The Invitational will be played at the Partridge Run Golf & Country Club.
