Seven different Lakers ended the night with a point, but none with more than one. Erika Parenti scored the first, and game-winning, goal, followed by Lauren Riccobelli and Georgia Cunliffe. Alexandra O'Brien, Katie Demers, Meagan Smith, and Sydney Pinti were each credited with one assist across the three goals. Mia Devivo made 21 saves in her shutout victory.
Parenti opened the scoring at the 14:02 mark of the 2nd period on the power play. Pinti tallied an assist on the goal. Riccobelli's goal came less than two minutes into the 3rd period on an Oswego counterattack. After a pass by Smith, O'Brien took a shot, gathering her own rebound to the left side of the goal. With Utica's goalie pulled over from the initial save, O'Brien passed back across the crease, with the puck being tapped in by Riccobelli. With 42 seconds remaining in the game, Cunliffe scored the final goal shorthanded off a quick takeaway and pass by her teammate Demers.
The teams will rematch tomorrow at the Utica University Nexus Center. Puck drop for game two of the miniseries is set for 3:00 pm.
