ROCHESTER, NY - Two members of the Utica University women's cross country team have been named to All-Empire 8 teams, as announced by the league on Tuesday.
Marlo Townsend (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy) has earned her second All-Conference selection after being named to the first team. Townsend put together a fantastic campaign, capped by a fifth place finish at the 2025 Empire 8 Cross Country Championships, with a time of 22.55.7. Her fastest time this season came in at 22:31.3 back at the Rowan Border Battle. Townsend was also selected to be Utica's recipient of the 2025 Women's Cross Country Tomorrow's Leaders Team. This team honors a student-athlete who has emerged as a leader not only on the field of play, but in the classroom and in the community. In addition, they "compete with honor and integrity" and have distinguished themselves and consistently exhibit the critical traits as outstanding sportswomen.
Catherine Manna (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) has received her second All-Conference selection after being named to the second team. Manna turned in an 18th place finish at the 2025 Empire 8 Cross Country Championships with a time of 23:47.7. Manna turned in her fastest time this season at the Rowan Border Battle with a time of 23:33.2.
