UTICA, NY - Utica University's men's wrestling team is set to compete at the RIT Invitational. The event will be held at Gordon Field House in Rochester tomorrow, December 6th. Action is scheduled to begin at 9:00 am.
State Meet Takeaways: Utica returns to competition following a full day at the New York State Collegiate Wrestling Championship, where the Pioneers sent 14 wrestlers into one of the region's deepest early-season fields. The highlight of the tournament came at 149 pounds, as
Matt Bonato (Syracuse, NY/Liverpool) earned a sixth-place finish to stand as Utica's lone placer on the day. Several Pioneers secured multiple wins across their brackets, with strong showings from
Sean Aldrich (Syracuse, NY/Cicero-North Syracuse),
Caden Beecher (Sauquoit, NY/Sauquoit Valley), and
Rian Kirker (Red Hook, NY/Red Hook), each of whom recorded at least one fall while advancing through the early rounds. Additional victories from
Logan Banks (West Hartford, CT/Conard),
Nuallan King (Pen Argyl, PA/Pen Argyl Area High School),
Marco Milankovic (Deer Park, NY/Deer Park), and
TJ Monahan (Port Jefferson Station, NY/Comsewogue) added depth to the team's overall performance, giving the lineup valuable experience against high-level state competition.
Up Next: The team will return to action in a home dual meet on Friday, December 12th. Utica will host Keystone College in their final competition of 2025, with the event set to begin at 7:00 pm. The team begins its 2026 slate with an away dual meet against Penn State-Altoona on January 17th.
