UTICA, NY - The United Soccer Coaches have announced their selections for the All-Region teams. After a historic season for the Utica program,
Byamungu Mugushu (Syracuse, NY/Bishop Grimes) was named to the All-Region III Second Team. His all-region honors are the first for Utica men's soccer since the 2014 season. The graduate student from Syracuse concludes his career with the Pioneers owning numerous program records.
Mugushu led the Pioneers this season, earning an Empire 8 First Team selection for his performance. Mugushu had not only his best personal season, but quite possibly the best individual season in program history. In 2025, he set single-season program records in points (39), points per game (2.29), game-winning goals (6), and tied the goal record with 16. He also broke several career records this season, holding tight leads on the total goals (37), and shots on goal (100) tallies, while holding sizable leads on the total points (91) and game-winning goals (13). Mugushu earned E8 honors for the third time in his career, earning First Team recognition in 2023 and 2025, and Second Team honors in 2022.
Mugushu now graduates with an accomplished class of Pioneers. Utica men's soccer is set to return to action in fall of 2026.
