ROCHESTER, NY - Two members of the Utica University women's basketball team have been named to Empire 8 All-Conference teams, as announced by the league on Thursday.
Vanessa Hall (Whitesville, NY/Whitesville Central) has received her second All-Conference selection after being named to the second team. Hall put forth an impressive sophomore campaign averaging a whopping 17.9 points per game. Hall was only one of five players in the conference that eclipsed the 375 point mark this season. Leading the team in field goal percentage, Hall converted on over 47 percent of her attempts from the floor this season. The Whitesville, NY native was skilled from the foul line, converting on over 80 percent of her attempts this season.
Brianelly Cruz (Bronx, NY/Fannie Lou Freedom) has received her first Empire 8 All-Conference selection after being named Utica's Sportswoman of the Year. One member of each team was named that institution's representative on the 2024 E8 Women's Basketball Sportswoman of the Year Team. The Empire 8 Conference emphasizes that "Competing with Honor and Integrity" is an essential component of a student-athlete's experience in conjunction with an institution's educational mission. These honorees have distinguished themselves and consistently exhibit the critical traits as outstanding sportswomen.
