Men's Indoor Track & Field Gets Set For Star-Studded Blue & Orange Invit & Multi

UTICA, NY- The Utica University men's indoor track and field will host the Blue & Orange Invitational and Multi on Friday, February 7, at 5 p.m. and Saturday, February 8, 2025, at 11 a.m. at the Todd & Jen Hutton Sports Center. The heptathlon and pentathlon will take place on Friday and all other events on Saturday.

Best of the Best: Star power will be on full display at the Blue & Orange Invitational. There will be a handful of top-20 NCAA performers from each team. 

Event Schedule: Friday heptathlon events include the 60m sprint, long jump, shot put, high jump, 60m hurdles, pole vault and the 1000m run. Pentathlon events include 60m hurdle, high jump, shot put, long jump and an 800m run.  

Athletes of the Week: Tanner Warren (Mohawk, NY/Central Valley Academy) and Hunter Logan (Fort Plain, NY/Herkimer College) both received Empire 8 Track and Field Athlete of the Week honors after their standout performances this past weekend at the John Terrier Classic. Warren picked up his first Empire 8 honor of the year after placing third in the 400m at Boston University out of over 80 runners, beating out numerous Division I runners while stamping a 48.38. Warren's incredible time also marked a school record, making Warren the first man to run a sub 49 in the indoor 400m. Logan picked up his second Empire 8 Field Athlete of the Week after placing third overall in shot put with his 16.32m throw. Logan was the only Division III athlete in the final.

Teams Attending: This weekend, 21 teams, including Utica, will attend the meet. They include TCNJ, Hamilton, SUNY Cobleskill, St. John Fisher, Vassar, Lock Haven, SUNY Plattsburgh, RPI, SUNY ESF, Colgate, MVCC, SUNY Potsdam, Misericordia, Wheaton, Sage, SUNY Geneseo, Hartwick, Bard, and SUNY Cortland.

Up Next: The Pioneers will be heading to Nazareth next week on Friday, February 14, and Saturday, February 15, 2025.
