UTICA, NY - The Utica University men's track and field team will be attending the All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Indoor Championships on Friday March 7 and Saturday March 8, 2025. This meet will be hosted by Ithaca College at the Glazer Arena in Ithaca, NY.

Event Schedule:Â Day 1 track events begin with the Heptathlon 60m at 11:00 am and ends with the men's 4x400 beginning at 6:50 pm. Field events start at noon with the women's pole vault and finish off at 5pm with the women's long jump and the men's shot put. Day 2 track events start off with the heptathlon 60 hurdles at 10:00am and the last event is the 4x200 men's relay at 3:00 pm. The day finishes off at 3:30 pm with team awards.Â

Track Qualifiers: The men's track team qualified for seven AARTF Championship events.
Ellis Urgent (Cornwall, NY/Cornwall Central) and
Tanner Warren (Mohawk, NY/Central Valley Academy) both qualified for the 400m with times of 50.16 and 49.66 respectively. Warren, Urgent, and
Nolan Flynn (Bethel, CT/Bethel) all qualified for the 200m event. Bennet Melita qualified for the 3000m event with a time of 8:36:83. The team of
Shane Tinney (Whitesboro, NY/Oriskany),
Cade Tavares (Endicott, NY/Union-Endicott),
Tyshawn Taylor (Syracuse, NY/Institute of Technology), and
Shane Wallace (Endicott, NY/Union-Endicott) qualified for the 4x200m event.
Tobias Jeralds (Canaan, NY/Chatham Central),
Tristan Vargo (East Aurora, NY/Orchard Park),
Forest Martin (Poland, NY/Poland Central), Eddy Corporon will be competing in the men's DMR. Taylor will also be competing in the 60m race. Urgent, Warren, Flynn and
Evan Smith (Baldwinsville, NY/Baker) will be competing as a team in the 4x400m event.Â

Field Qualifiers: The Pioneers will be competing in four different field events at the AARTF Championship.
Ellis Urgent (Cornwall, NY/Cornwall Central) and Robert Lowry have qualified for the men's long jump. Logan Hunter has qualified for the shot put event with a 15.66m throw, winning his fourth consecutive indoor Empire 8 shot put championship.
Kaiden McCaskill (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy) qualified for high jump with a 6.99m leap.
Blake Gannon (Schenectady, NY/Mohonasen),
Joshua Talbot (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy), and
Spencer Borghardt (Melville, NY/St.Anthony's) will be competing in the weight throw event.Â

Up Next: The qualifying Pioneers will be going to the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships on Friday March 14 and Saturday March 15, 2025 at 10am. This meet will be hosted by Nazareth University in Rochester, NY.
