CORTLAND, NY - Men's Outdoor track & field completes day two of the Cortland Classic on Saturday afternoon.
Theodore Tsamis (Richmondville, NY/Cobleskill-Richmondville),
Cade Tavares (Endicott, NY/Union-Endicott) and Brady Szekeres competed in the decathlon. Tsamis placed third overall with 5,156 points, Tavares placed fifth with 4,576 points and Szekeres took sixth (4,477). Tsamis's score is fourth all-time, followed by Tavares's seventh all-time finish and Szekeres's 10th all-time finish.
The 4x800m team of
Eddy Corporan (Poughkeepsie, NY/Roy C Ketcham),
Bennett Melita (Johnstown, NY/Fonda Fultonville),
Joseph Santiago (Amsterdam, NY/Amsterdam) and
Forest Martin (Poland, NY/Poland Central) placed first overall with a time of 8:16.68.
Corporan ran the 800m and placed second overall with a 1:56.98 mark, making him fifth all-time in program history.
Louis Pinto (Clinton, NY/Clinton) hit the AARTFC qualifying mark after a second-place finish in high jump (1.94m).
Kaiden McCaskill (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy) placed eighth with a 1.78m jump.
Hunter Logan (Fort Plain, NY/Herkimer College) placed second overall in shot put with a 15.88m throw and
Billie Mays III (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy) placed ninth with a 13.41m throw.
Timothy Jeralds (Canaan, NY/Chatham Central),
Riley Smith (),
Rian Kirker (Red Hook, NY/Red Hook) and
Harley Hugunine (Oneida, NY/Vernon-Verona-Sherrill) all placed top 10 in the 400m hurdles. Jeralds placed fifth (1:00.19), Smith placed second (1:00.96), Kirker eighth (1:02.92) and Hugunine ninth (1:04.20).
The team heads to RPI for the Capital District Classic on Friday, April 25. A time is TBD.
