ONEONTA, NY - The Utica University women's lacrosse team was outlasted by the Hartwick Hawks 13-12 on Wednesday.
Maria Stuhlman (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) and
Grace Stuhlman (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) totaled five points each. Maria scored five goals and Grace notched three goals and two assists.

Utica and Hartwick combined for seven goals in the first quarter, four from Utica and three by Hartwick. The Pioneers scored three consecutive goals between the 4:20 mark and the 2:17 mark in the quarter, as Utica entered the second with a 4-3 advantage.Â

The Pioneers would score three in the second quarter while holding the Hawks to zero. Utica entered the third quarter with a 7-3 lead.

Utica totaled five goals in the third quarter, to Hartwick's two. Utica made it an 11-3 game with 7:28 remaining in the quarter, but Hartwick would score two more before the teams would head into the fourth quarter. Utica was up 12-5.Â

Hartwick scored eight unanswered goals in the fourth, edging Utica 13-12.Â
