UTICA, NY - Utica University's women's golf team is set to start their 2025-26 spring season by competing in two events, while the men join them in one of the events, playing in their second week of spring 2026 action. Tomorrow, April 9th, both squads will head to Lakeside Country Club to compete in Keuka College's Spring Invitational before just the women take on SUNY Cortland's Martin/Wallace Invitational over the weekend at the Cortland Country Club. Tee times in Keuka are set to begin as early as 10:00 am.

Thawing Out: The men's team opened the spring portion of its 2026 schedule last Friday and Saturday with a 13th-place finish at the Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort, posting a two-day score of +87.
Aydin Parekh (Nobleton, Ontario/Blyth Academy) led the Pioneers with a +17 showing, carding consistent rounds across both days, while
Louie Roman (Oswego, NY/Oswego) and
Neil Roman (Oswego, NY/Oswego) followed closely at +22 and +23.
Koltin Pickell (Ellenville, NY/Ellenvlle) and
Nathan Macdonald (Canton, MA/Canton) rounded out Utica's lineup, finishing with scores of +29 and +31.
Women Back in Action: The women's team put together a consistent fall campaign across three events, highlighted by a runner-up finish at the Keuka College Fall Invitational and a pair of fourth-place team finishes in conference competition.
Claire Draper (Watertown, NY/Watertown) emerged as the Pioneers' top performer throughout the fall, recording a second-place finish at Keuka and pacing the team in all three events, including a seventh-place showing at the Northeast Women's Golf Conference Fall Invitational.
Alaina Weaver (Sauquoit, NY/Sauquoit Valley Central) also delivered a strong stretch, headlined by a fifth-place finish at the Empire 8 event, while
Paige Graves (Syracuse, NY/Fayetteville-Manlius) and
Jordan Dorrity (Constableville, NY/South Lewis Central) provided steady depth with multiple top-15 efforts. As a group, the Pioneers showed consistency in their scoring lineup and remained competitive within the conference field, closing the fall season with a foundation to build upon heading into the spring slate.
The Keuka Invite: Lakeside Country Club, which celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2023, features an 18-hole, 6,631-yard par-72 layout with a USGA rating of 71.6 and a slope of 131 from the Blue tees. The course incorporates rolling terrain with views of Keuka Lake, presenting a mix of challenging fairways and greens that will test the field throughout the round.
The Cortland Invite: Cortland Country Club, established in 1913, features a par-72 layout with multiple tee options for competition. The women's setup ranges from 6,410 yards (Blue tees, 77.0 rating, 137 slope) to 4,492 yards (Green tees, 65.8 rating, 112 slope), offering a variety of course lengths and difficulty levels. Set among the rolling terrain of Central New York, the course presents a balanced test with a mix of elevation changes and strategically placed hazards throughout the round.
Up Next: Both teams will return next weekend in their respective conference championship events. The women will head to Van Patten Golf Club in Clifton Park, NY to take on the NWGC Championship, while the men will challenge E8 competition at the Lebanon Country Club in Lebanon, PA.
