UTICA, NY - With the conclusion of Empire 8 play in the 2026 men's lacrosse season, the conference has announced its All-Conference selections. Four Pioneers were recognized across three teams, highlighting a season that included the program's first-ever postseason victory and continued offensive production at a high level.
Utica's top recognition came on the Second Team, where junior attacker
Ryan Considine (Syracuse, NY/West Genesee) earned honors following a historic offensive campaign. Considine led the Pioneers with 36 goals and 34 assists, finishing with 70 total points, the highest single-season total in program history. His assist total also established a new program record, cementing his role as both the team's primary scorer and facilitator. In addition to his offensive output, Considine contributed 54 ground balls and six caused turnovers, impacting all phases of the game.
Junior midfielder
Lucas Donahue (Burnt Hills, NY/Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake) was named to the Empire 8 Third Team after finishing second on the team in scoring. Donahue netted 32 goals and added seven assists for 39 total points, leading the Pioneers with eight of the team's 14 man-up goals. His ability to produce in key situations and stretch defenses made him a central piece of Utica's offensive attack throughout the season.
On the defensive end, junior
Aaron Bergquist (Brewerton, NY/Central Square) earned Third Team recognition following a standout season anchoring the Pioneer back line. Bergquist led the team with 27 caused turnovers while adding 50 ground balls, serving as a disruptive presence in both settled defense and transition. His consistency helped drive Utica's defensive identity throughout the year. Despite his position, Bergquist was still able to add two goals and two assists to the score sheet.
Senior midfielder
Noah Erickson (Auburn, NY/Auburn) rounded out Utica's selections as the team's representative on the Empire 8 Men's Lacrosse Sportsman of the Year Team. One member from each institution is selected for the honor, which recognizes student-athletes who embody the conference's emphasis on "Competing with Honor and Integrity" while consistently demonstrating outstanding sportsmanship and leadership. Erickson, a captain, paired that recognition with a steady on-field presence, contributing eight goals and 14 assists for 22 points while adding 19 ground balls and three caused turnovers over 17 appearances.
