2015: Started in 16 games for the Pioneers as he played in 17 … He played the second most on the team with 1279 minutes on the field and led the team with 11 goals … Was first on the team with 26 points and was second on the team with four assists … He recorded his season high of six points in the team’s 6-0 win over Nazareth as he scored two goals to go with his two assists (9/26/15) …  In back to back games against Nazareth (9/26/15) and Elmira (10/3/15) he totaled ten points in just those two games tallying four goals and two assists …  He was honored with his second straight Empire 8 All-Conference First Team selection as he ended his career as the all-time leader in goals and total points in Utica College history.

2014: Appeared in 17 games… Started in 16… Averaged 3.06 shots per game… Averaged .71 goals per game… Averaged 1.53 points per game… Tallied his only hat trick of the season in a 3-0 win over Sage (08/29/14)… Recorded 12 points in his first three games… Had a three game consecutive point streak twice within the season… Had the game winning goal in the team’s 2-1 win over Houghton (09/20/14)… Posted a total of 1,003 minutes of play on the season… Led the team and the conference in goals (12) and points (26)… Named Empire 8 player of the week twice (09/03/14) (09/22/14)… Named ECAC player of the week (09/03/14)… Finished second in the conference and first on the team with 52 shots on goal… Ranked second all-time at UC in goals and fourth all time in points… Named the College’s athlete of the week (09/01/14)… Named Empire 8 All- Conference first team forward… Received NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division III Men's All-East Region Second Team honors… Named to the 2014 ECAC Division III Upstate Men's Soccer All-Star Team.

2013: Appeared in 20 games while starting 16 ... Scored six goals and added two assists ... Scored game winning goal against Alfred on 10/26/13 ... Totaled 27 shots on the season.

2012: Empire 8 Offensive Player of the Week (10/22/12) … Played in all 18 games while starting 16 … Scored four goals and added eight assists … Totaled 16 shots on the season … Recorded a season-high 6 points in the Pioneers win over Alfred (10/20/12).

2011: Played in three games for the Pioneers … Scored one goal and added two assists on the year … Led the team with an average of 1.33 points per game … Recorded a season-high three points in the Pioneers’ win over Cazenovia (9/7/11).

Personal: Shane is a 2011 graduate of Westborough High School and is the son of Mary Jane and Matthew Ruffing ... He is currently pursuing a degree in Business.
